FON Hakaton – Blockchain Challenge – SNEAK PEEK!

On March 30th, the Blockchain Laboratory of the Faculty of Organizational Sciences (FON) joined forces with the student organization FONIS and the University of Florida for their second collaborative Blockchain hackathon titled FON Hakaton – Blockchain Challenge.

The FON Hakaton – Blockchain Challenge provides students with the opportunity to showcase their skills and creativity in the world of blockchain technologies. Participants had a chance to propose new business models through the implementation of smart contracts using PyTeal and Solidity programming languages, as well as the development of innovative NFT projects. This event was a unique opportunity to generate new ideas and interact with experts.

This year’s competition began with a warm welcome speech delivered by representatives of the FON, UF and their partners. All attendees had the opportunity to hear words of welcome and support from these institutions. The welcome speech was given by:

  1. Dušan Barać, Ph.D., Full Professor and the Vice-dean for Digital Development at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences, University of Belgrade
  2. Aleksandra Labus, Ph.D., Full Professor and Head of the Blockchain Laboratory at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences, University of Belgrade
  3. Markus Santoso, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Digital Worlds Institute at the University of Florida
  4. Mihailo Bjelić, co-founder of Polygon
  5. Sanja Ugrčić Pavlović, Director of Supercluster “Excellent 3”, by Serbia Innovates

The project presentation itself went extremely well. Everyone was eager to share their ideas and solutions, creating an inspiring atmosphere throughout the event. A total of nine teams from the University of Belgrade and two teams from the University of Florida presented their solutions.

The selection of the best solution was entrusted to a panel of experts judges. The panel was composed of the following members: Professor Dušan Barać (FON), Professor Zorica Bogdanović (FON), Nikola Mandić (MVPWorkshop/Attic42, Serbia Innovates), Bojan Zamurović, Ivan Zamurović, and Professor Markus Santoso (UF).

All teams showcased exceptional expertise and highly creative ideas. However, according to the expert judges and jury, three teams truly distinguished themselves. It is with great honor that we present the winners of this year’s competition:
