The goal of the micro lecture is to give an overview of blockchain technologies and analyze their role in modern e-business ecosystems. First, we present the main components of blockchain systems and explain how blockchain transactions work. Then, we analyze various consensus algorithms and present the main implementations. We also explain the role of smart contracts in blockchain systems. In the second part of the lecture, we analyze how the development of the blockchain-based digital economy is changing the ways of modern business. We analyze various applications of blockchain technologies in areas such as e-business, healthcare, the fashion industry, CRM, etc. Finally, we present trends and further possible applications of blockchain.
Aleksandra Labus is an associate professor of the Faculty of Organizational Sciences at the University of Belgrade. She is CoPI at an international project with the University of Florida and Head of the Blockchain Laboratory. She teaches subjects in the area of: e-business, internet and mobile technologies, blockchain, internet of things, digital marketing, e-education, e-health, on BSc, MSc, and PhD studies. Aleksandra mentored five defended PhD thesis. She has published over 20 papers in highly ranked international journals, 5 chapters in international monographs, and more than 100 papers in scientific conferences. She is a member of IEEE Computer Society and the treasurer of IEEE Chapter Computer Science (CO-16).
