Danica Softić: Development of an Application for Tracking the Origin of Fashion Items Using Algorand and React Technologies

Graduate student Danica Softić defended his master thesis with the title Development of an Application for Tracking the Origin of Fashion Items Using Algorand and React Technologies

Abstract:

Within the scope of this work, the focus is on developing an application that utilizes Algorand and React technologies for tracking the origin of fashion items. The goal is to analyze the possibilities of blockchain technology in this context. Another objective is to design and demonstrate the development of smart B2C contracts. The PyTeal programming language will be used for implementing smart contracts, while the Algorand platform will be used to record B2C transactions. The final application will be developed in the React environment and will provide end consumers with access to information about the origin of fashion items. The focus will be on creating a user-friendly application in the React environment that visually represents the process of creating smart contracts between the fashion company and suppliers in the supply chain. The smart contract will be simulated only between these two participants in the supply chain, providing essential information for the end user.

At the end of the research, the advantages and opportunities offered by this type of blockchain-based contract in the fashion industry will be highlighted. Through these contracts, consumers will have access to transparent information about the origin of fashion items, providing them with increased security and trust in the quality and authenticity of products. This approach allows brands to build stronger connections with consumers and establish lasting trust.
